 | 31st Dec 2009 | new years eve featuring 44422, 20301, 20304 & 47712
on the final day of the year i did not expect to hear info that 3 DRS locos would be heading through peterborough so i popped down to see them. on my travels i also saw the nene valley railway's last 2 services of the year hauled by the popular visitor no. 44422

 | 19th Dec 2009 | 1 year of GEG, 2 A4s, snow and an anglia day ranger
my 3rd and final anglia day ranger of 2009 started at peterborough where i saw 60007 sir nigel gresley, i then moved over to waterbeach to see 60019 bittern via a pause at ely, after a stop at ely's tesco we then moved over to norwich for a bash on the 90s to ipswich, had 90014 norwich - ipswich and 90015 ipswich - norwich. i had a glimpse (but no photo oppertunities for a class 70 no. 70001, then after a short wait bittern returned into norwich platform ready to take the punters home.
as an admin of GEG and been to majority of their meets i definately would reccomend them to you. to have a better look at GEG's activity or even better if you'd like to join GEG (remember to post and attend their meets) we can be found here

 | 7th Dec 2009 to 8th Dec 2009 | crownlakes - peterborough - march - ely feat. NMT and tangmere 7-8/12/09
7th dec i went out for the NMT at crownlakes then on the 8th i started at peterborough (like i do) then moved onto march to see tangmere being serviced and turned, i then moved onto ely to see it arrive and depart to take passengers home to london victoria.
unfortunately this didn't turn out as planned due to some idiodity getting the engine turned resulting in a delay which built up to nearly 50 minutes and also because of the mass audience at ely.
videos when uploaded will be available at http://www.youtube.com/user/jules46443

 | 5th Dec 2009 | railtours seen at peterborough and a few other things

|

 | 14th Nov 2009 | anglia + day ranger chasing 1001 (the hastings unit) and co
well despite the weather, having the main camera in the wrong mode at waterbeach and the signal failier on the return from cromer a good day was had by me, getting in the cab at cromer kinda made up for the error at waterbeach but nothing could make up for the signal failier and because of that the cancelation of the photo shoot at norwich. included in this gallery are some of the best (yes some i couldn't decide out of them all) photos i took on the day.
with thanks to jason for the company at waterbeach

 | 7th Nov 2009 | york and dringhouse
after the disapointment of northallerton me and the yrf crew returned to york and after seeing our HST leave left for dringhouse and after that returned to york in hope of seeing the return of the 90 which was sadly routed via the avoiding line
|
 | 7th Nov 2009 | a little bit of northallerton
has to be one of the smallest collections i've ever got from a station with the most awful staff in britain who after seeing the GCs and 1 nxec service kicked my posse off the station meaning we missed such rarities like the NMT and a class 90 halued railtour. so may i express my disgrace to the staff who work at northallerton and a bunch of 3 jerks who were allowed to stay on the platform and boasted about what they photted. just how do they sleep at night???
|

|
 | 11th Oct 2009 | NVR 1968 event 2009
in my opinion. not the best event in the world and rather disapointing they didn't have a steam gala
|
 | 10th Oct 2009 | Great Central Railway/Steam Railway heavy metal steam gala 2009
after the delight of the winter steam gala in january i returned to the great central for the autumn steam gala when they team up with steam railway to make an epic line up and this year was no different, most of the engine classes with the exception of sir lamiel ran on the GCR at some point in their lives and the railway's double track and atmosphere made a rather stronge feel for the 1950s
FANTASTIC!
|
 | 5th Sep 2009 | North Norfolk Railway's autumn steam gala september 5th 2009
i again went down to this brilliant line for another awsome gala. despite the late running, they used a diesel and the fact they blocked sheringham station (again!)
